Ok. Here is a riddle for you: What is opened when it's opened, and closed when it's closed? If your answer is a gift shop then you win a prize. Today we take a look at a high-density mobile shelving system (one of several) at the Seattle Public Library. What makes this one unique is how it's used. The shelving system houses all of the gift shop's items. During the gift shop's operating hours the shelving system is opened, but when the gift shop closes, the shelving system can be compacted into a cube, which is closed on all four sides and locked. Not only does this save space, but it also secures the gift shop items inside it during times when the library is opened but the gift shop is closed.
